Independent Redress Scheme
It is a mandatory requirement for PPD members of NAEA, ARLA, ICBA and NAVA to ensure that any company of which they are a principal, partner or director and that is involved in agency or auctioneering is a member of an approved independent redress scheme. The role of an independent redress scheme is to provide fair and reasonable resolutions to disputes with members of the public.
All three of the Government approved schemes are accepted, however, if your company deals with Auctions you would need to belong to either TPOS or OS:P.
The contact details of the Redress Schemes are as follows:
- The Property Ombudsman Scheme (TPOS). You can contact TPOS on 0172 233 3306 or by visiting the website www.tpos.co.uk.
N.B. Registration with the property Ombudsman is not sufficient. To meet your company obligations as a member of a division of NFoPP you must join TPOS as a Member.
- The Property Redress Scheme (PRS). You can contact the PRS on 0208 275 7131 or by visiting the website www.theprs.co.uk.
